<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Positive Color
Depending on its intensity and hue, yellow painted on walls and used in decorating can raise energy levels, help digestion and sharpen memory. A light shade of yellow sprinkled throughout your design makes a room seem brighter and sunnier. Yellow works well in a color palette with blue or white.
On the Other: Overpowering Statement
An excess of bold or bright yellow used in a color scheme can make a person irritable. Yellows with a strong orange undertone can be overpowering to the eye. Vibrant lemony base colors are too much for the senses to experience and enjoy.
Bottom Line
Yellow is a good color to use in decorating. It promotes feelings of happiness and makes a room cheery. Use yellow as a base if the color is light. Stronger yellows should be used as accents.
