    Lee Iacocca invented the first Ford Mustang in the early 1960's. He was the product director and was planning a cheap coupe with a powerful engine and upgradable features such as trimming, car ornaments and manual or automatic. The idea was for the consumer to tailor make a car to fit his needs.
