Microsoft Excel is a computer spreadsheet program that is commonly used in business and finance as a tool to organize and intemperate on data. Excel can be used for things as a way to store numeric data and can quickly display data in graphical form.
Compatibility
Several different versions of Microsoft Excel are still in use. Newer versions of Excel, however, can often open and edit files created in and saved with older versions of the software.
Size
Excel can handle spreadsheets with thousands of rows or columns allowing huge amounts of data to be organized in a single spreadsheet. New tabs can be used to create different sheets for different data sets.
Graphing
Excel can display data in many different graphical forms such as pie charts, histograms, line plots and box charts.
Calculations
Excel allows users to make references to data cells with formulas that can allow users to perform the same calculation on many different cells simultaneously.
Universality
Microsoft Excel is in widespread use in business. Most office computers will have been installed with Excel.
