DPFE, along with EGR, is a system that is used in cars to regulate the fuel/air mixture going into the engine of a car. It does this by measuring differences in pressure between two tubes hooked up to the engine.
DPFE
DPFE refers to delta pressure feedback of EGR, or exhaust gas recirculation.
EGR
Exhaust gas recirculation is a system that recycles exhaust gas through the engine a second time in order burn it again and reduce the pollutants released into the atmosphere.
How It Works
The DPFE registers the pressure difference between a tube containing the recirculated exhaust gas and free flowing exhaust and converts this to a signal.
Symptoms of DPFE Problems
Problems with the DPFE usually result in a stumble in engine power while cruising.
Solution to DPFE Problems
If there is a problem with the DPFE, it is recommended that the DPFE sensor be replaced.
