    Constant Borrowing

    Someone with a gambling problem can run out of money soon after getting his paycheck. It's common for problem gamblers to look for loans from friends and family or an advance on their paychecks to place bets between pay periods.

    Absences From Work

    A gambling obsession or addiction can cause people to use their vacation time or sick days to spend more time at the track or casino looking for a big win.

    Lying or Denial

    People who lie about their whereabouts when gambling or exaggerate the level of money they have either bet or lost could be suffering from a gambling problem.

    No Interest in Other Activities

    Problem gamblers give up on virtually all their other interests and hobbies and tend to even lose contact with family and friends when their obsession with gambling grows too strong.
