    Does it fetch your slippers? Does it serenade you with songs? Does it empty outs its own litter box? Does it comfort you when you are ill? Does it only acknowledge your existence when it is hungry? If the answer is 'yes' to all questions but the last then yes, your cat loves you.

    Unless your cat saved your life or deliberately came to comfort you when you were in despair, I doubt it does. Why should it? You are just a convenience to it.
