Is the only safe tan a fake tan?

Fake tans tend to look fake and besides who knows what they are made from. You know like artifical sweetner, it took them over 20 years to figure out that it was caustic and caused cancer. So as in all things I guess the old saying still holds true "All things in moderation." So get some good 'ol sumshine, but don't over do it.

Until the hole in the ozone layer is fully closed in about 80 years time, hopefully, it would be safer to go for fake tans.

No. But there's a difference between getting a little tanned over several months, and sunning yourself to a crisp from dawn until dusk to get dark tanned as early as possible. Of course it depends whether you tan easily or not.
