Should we look at cutting back on the number of credit cards we have?

I've read that the average american household has 7 credit cards. That's a lot to keep up with, especially if you're using all of them on a regular basis. But, it's not the number of credit cards that hurts people, it's irresponsible use of credit that hurts people.

I work for one of the biggest banks in the world and my advice is 'Yes'.....pay off those credit cards as quickly as you can. We are all going to end up paying for all the people who are not going to pay their credit card debts and help the banks make up their losses!
