  • Test the waters first by joking around with him and something close to what you painted him. If testing the waters goes good, then go ahead with giving him the painting. Your interests are yours and that's his problem if he can't accept it. He should graciously accept the gift, though.

The rocks will come in handy for you to throw at him as he walks away. Lol, I'm kidding. Seriously, this is a very nice gesture of you and whether he gets angry or not shouldn't determine if you should give it to him, seryeuse. Have you ever heard the saying that it's not what you do but the thought behind it that counts? This is one of those instances.
