  • I don't see a link to a story. --- Okay now you have added the link - I will check it out. -- Well, it says that the mother agrees - not sure if that means that she initiated the case. If so, then it has no connections to the mysterious 'death panels' that wackos seem to think are on the horizon. Even if she didn't, the case is going to court - the doctors do not have the authority to act on their own. I will be watching this case closely. I prefer this method of resolving the issue to having an insurance company (private sector - so efficient at creating a profit) resolve it by refusing coverage in the first place.
  • Death panels exist already in the United States with decisions made by people (insurance companies) who profit by not paying for care life savings procedures. People who think national health care will bring death panels into their medical care are idiots with their heads in the sand. If doctors decide to suspend care due to quality of life or issues of suffering I think that's a damned sight more ethical than insurance companies suspending care because it affects their profit margins.
