If you're old enough to remember the '50s and '60s music, how do you like TODAY'S music in COMPARISON? Do you find TODAY'S music sorely lacking or appreciative, but on a different level?

Regardless of the decade, there has always been great music, average music, and bad music. I think it is difficult to generalize, although I would tend to think that there were more really good songs and melodies composed in the 1960s than today. We will know better in 20-30 years, because then time will have made its selection, and we will see if more material from the 1950s, 1960s, or the 2000's will have survived.

I can enjoy the poetic genius behind rap and hip-hop, but find it mostly uninspiring in melody and often too full of violence and aggression.

I'm showing my age but yes, I do remember 50's and 60's music. I like it better than much of what I hear today.
