I think they are still considered caucasians.

Greeks, Italian and Spanish are considered Mediterranean. Whether that's a separate race or not, I don't know. I tried to get an answer on a similar question, but didn't receive a definite answer.

I don't know that many Sicilians, but the hair and skin colour of the Greeks around me (I live in Greece) comes in all variations of light to dark (due to their history)
