  • i think its a halluicgen (dont no if i spelled it right) It makes you see things that simply arent there
  • LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is one of the major drugs making up the hallucinogen class of drugs. Hallucinogens cause hallucinations—profound distortions in a person’s perception of reality. Hallucinogens cause their effects by disrupting the interaction of nerve cells and the neurotransmitter serotonin. Distributed throughout the brain and spinal cord, the serotonin system is involved in the control of behavioral, perceptual, and regulatory systems, including mood, hunger, body temperature, sexual behavior, muscle control, and sensory perception. Under the influence of hallucinogens, people see images, hear sounds, and feel sensations that seem real but do not exist. Some hallucinogens also produce rapid, intense emotional swings. One of the most potent mood-changing chemicals, LSD, was discovered in 1938 and is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in ergot, a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. Health Hazards The effects of LSD are unpredictable. They depend on the amount taken; the user's personality, mood, and expectations; and the surroundings in which the drug is used. Usually, the user feels the first effects of the drug 30 to 90 minutes after taking it. The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, sweating, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors. Sensations and feelings change much more dramatically than the physical signs. The user may feel several different emotions at once or swing rapidly from one emotion to another. If taken in a large enough dose, the drug produces delusions and visual hallucinations. The user’s sense of time and self changes. Sensations may seem to "cross over," giving the user the feeling of hearing colors and seeing sounds. These changes can be frightening and can cause panic. Users refer to their experience with LSD as a "trip" and to acute adverse reactions as a "bad trip." These experiences are long; typically they begin to clear after about 12 hours. Some LSD users experience severe, terrifying thoughts and feelings, fear of losing control, fear of insanity and death, and despair while using LSD. Some fatal accidents have occurred during states of LSD intoxication. Many LSD users experience flashbacks, recurrence of certain aspects of a person's experience, without the user having taken the drug again. A flashback occurs suddenly, often without warning, and may occur within a few days or more than a year after LSD use. Flashbacks usually occur in people who use hallucinogens chronically or have an underlying personality problem; however, otherwise healthy people who use LSD occasionally may also have flashbacks. Bad trips and flashbacks are only part of the risks of LSD use. LSD users may manifest relatively long-lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression. It is difficult to determine the extent and mechanism of the LSD involvement in these illnesses. Most users of LSD voluntarily decrease or stop its use over time. LSD is not considered an addictive drug since it does not produce compulsive drug-seeking behavior, as do cocaine, amphetamine, heroin, alcohol, and nicotine. However, like many of the addictive drugs, LSD produces tolerance, so some users who take the drug repeatedly must take progressively higher doses to achieve the state of intoxication that they had previously achieved. This is an extremely dangerous practice, given the unpredictability of the drug. http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofacts/LSD.html
  • LSD is the most common hallucinogen and one of the most potent mood-changing chemicals. It is manufactured from lysergic acid, found in a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. LSD, commonly referred to as "acid", is sold on the street in tablets, capsules, and occasionally in liquid form. It is odorless and colorless, with a slightly bitter taste. here it breaks down what can possiblly have effect on you on LSD, as many people are effected in diffrent ways: http://www.thegooddrugsguide.com/lsd/dangers.htm
  • LSD interrupts the flow of serotonin in the brain momentarily thereby heightening perception and amplyfying experience and knowledge.
  • It makes you laugh your ass off, uncontrolably. Also makes you hallucinate, seeing and/or feeling things that arent really there.
  • Kills your brain cells!!!
  • Don't try it.
  • But, Oh what a ride! It makes a David Lynch film look normal.
  • ( answer based on my personal experience with a few facts thrown in. Im going to tell you what I know based on what I've seen, as oppose to copy and pasting from the net): An acid trip is so very unprecictable. Every trip will be different and it's almost impossible to predict whether your's will be an enjoyable one... or not. Usually (for me) it's a mix of the two, with mood swings. One moment you feel great, on top of the world, and the next, you feel as though you're insane, or this drug is gonna kill you. Soo... what exactly DO i see or 'hallucinate'? Mostly patterns, swirling, bright colours which seem to 'dance' in time to the music. You take a high dosage, you can taste the colours too. I once saw the house across the street turn into a locomotive, but we wont dwell on that... The next day; everything seems fresh. Almost like being reborn. I took a walk through the woods once after an acid trip and I was amazed at how I was recognising how wonderful nature is. Some Acid Tips from The Expert: *It's always good to play music which you're familiar with, stay in a room which you are familiar with and be around people you know and trust. This way, you'll feel more at ease with yourself, therefore avoiding a bad trip (hopefully). *If you feel at all worried about taking LSD, dont take it, simple as that. *Never! trip on your own, have someone there (a drug free person) for 'ground control'. *LSD id strong stuff, be careful with it and treat it nicely! *LSD wont harm your body- it's not toxic. *You cannot overdose and you wont get addicted. Amen from acid! Just.. be careful and blah blah.
  • LSD does...amazing things.
  • well depending upon the personality of the person it can do wonderful things such as spiritual realization ego death and so on and so fourth on the other hand it can cause a freak out so to speak the best advice is use responisbly but imo it will give you insight into life and death and other stuff if someone quote unquote goes crazy on somthing i honestly belive it is "their" fault not the drugs that person obvisouly didnt know themselves enough to make an informed decison not to take it otherwise nothing bad will happen LSD dos not make you see stuff that isnt there it is a hallucenogen not a delirent it does not kill brain cells and honestly is fairly harmless in the sense of overdosing and such go to erowid.org if you want REAL unbiased info on the subject do not fall for the scare tactics and the old itl make you think you can fly and such as bill hicks stated if you think you can fly then why not take off from the ground... you dont see ducks lined up to take an elevator to fly south if someone jumped out a window and died on lsd well...he deserved it he was an idiot and the world is better off without him (not to sound harsh) but it is true i think it is funny that people belive in fate and such and will sometimes actually say such and such was taken before his/her time which is simply not true he/she is dead therefore it WAS meant to happen because it did happen but yeah alot of people who posted answers here should really do there research before making statements(not to be rude)but yeah erowid.org real answers not biased answers
