Reagan was an incredible speaker when he ran for President. I voted for him. (don't tell anyone) He did NOT follow through but I think the Alzheimer's was in effect and he had other predators circling the office. George Bush is an idiot that can't speak at all. Throw a shoe.

Reagan by far. However, I saw George speak without a telepromter and from his heart and he was quite good when he is not scripted. I was surprised, but it was a small setting.

Reagan was the better actor. Come on did they write their own speeches? Reading is the same as acting. Bush had his own bushisms. His own vocabulary. He showed no signs of a formal education. He was fun to listen to just to hear another Bushism.

President Reagan, despite all of my disagreements with him on policy issues, was one of the most skilled public speakers in American political history. It's not fair to compare anyone to him.

I'm not slamming on anyone here but why the comparison between someone who was recognized by everyone on both sides of the fence as a great speaker and Bush. While I think the answer would be the same, a better comparison would have been Reagan and Clinton.

Reagan was a magnificent speaker. There is really no comparison other than to get funny answers like the ones before mine. I think Bush was good at heart but his sentences never made it out right. Just today I listened to a bush quote on the radio that went like this: "We got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB/GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across the country." How hilarious is that?

Ronald Reagan, the Great Communicator, is one of the best speakers I've ever heard.
