Because as bad as most legal systems are (e.g. the United States, which has the best legal system that money can buy), vigilante justice is worse.
Vigilantes are people, full of prejudices and mental 'blind spots'. They have no accountability for what they do, and they are prone to making up what constitutes 'justice' as they go along, often adjusting that notion to correspond to whatever they have already done or plan to do.
We have one in my neighborhood (kinda). He's an old retired Navy guy and lives across the street from us. He's always keeping an eye on things going on around the neighborhood and won't hesitate to confront anyone. If we go out of town, we always let him know because he'll keep a closer eye on our house.
where do i go in the uk if i want to make a complaint about a service because ive been ripped of and have evidence of it?

If the sign says 55, but they won't stop you unless you're going 70, what is the speed limit? Is it what the sign says, or the cop?

Shortly, cameras will decide who gets a ticket and who doesn't. If the sign says 55, at what speed should the camera spit out a ticket?

You're reading Theoretically, there is a vigilante in your neighborhood who rids your streets of crime, why are they illegal? would you want them to stop, and if so, why?
