Plastic things started becoming available in India when I was about 9 or 10. I remember my father had presented plastic wallets to myself and my brother. Mine was green and his was dark pink, both had some chequered pattern. Rummaging through my mother's cupboard after she was gone almost nine years ago, we came across my brother's wallet with his old school id card in it. I don't know if he's still kept it. Must ask him when we talk next. Thanks for the question, momma, and the memory it evoked. :-)
