"Blade Runner" raises some GREAT questions. How do we know we're human, and why are we so special if the manufactured replicants are stronger, smarter, more beautiful than we are? They have implanted "memories" of childhood; how do we know ours are real? They develop personalities and make moral judgments and decisions - such as mercy - that go against their programming. The movie seems to say that Roy, programmed to kill, might be a redeemed individual just as a human being might be redeemed. Many individual pieces of art, not just this one, have made me think about life differently. "The unexamined life is not worth living."

Children of Men - Makes me worry about what people do to each other and the world and the consequences that could befall us. Shawshank Redemption - makes me unbelievably happy, a real morale boost and a fingers up to the characters in out lives that are similar to those that make 'andy's' life hell (obviously not on the same scale). Rocky 1,2,3 - That real morale boost and adrenal feeling when the theme tune kicks of could make me run for hours!

Trainspotting, as well as the book it's based on.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; I saw it at a crucial point in my life, at a time where I was unsure of whether or not I wanted to stay with my partner (unmarried). It made me reevaluate our relationship and my life in ways I hadn't done before.

The first film I walked out of the theater from and felt personally different was "In the Name of the Father". It was so incredibly powerful and still touches me to this day when I watch it. Everyone and their mother should see it.
