When shooting free throws in basketball, if the shooter hits only the glass, can he then rebound the ball? Or must it hit the rim?

heyt he smallest to dunk was Tyrone "mugsy" Bogues he is now retired but when he did it he was only 5'3ft!!! He played in NBA

Muggsy Bogues says he dunked in high school and tipped one in during his college days and he was 5'3". The shortest that's dunked in the NBA (to the best of my knowledge) was 5'7" spudd webb.
