Throat lozenges are helpful (Cepacol and Chloraseptic are the best). You can also drink lemon tea with honey. I favor Celestial Seasoning's Lemon Zinger when I have a sore throat. In the meantime, rest your voice and it will recover faster. When you can't speak, pen and paper are your friends.
I drink lemonade.
My mom swears on lemon juice and honey!
Zip it for as long as possible and drink Slippery Elm Tea.
If it's not due to a sore throat or cold, sing.
Lemon juice helps singers retain vocal strength. Lozenges might do the trick. As would miming for a while or sign language. :)
rest is the best remedy
