In my philosophy we are just intermediaries passing on the experiences to something undefined that exists beyond our minds and intellects. We think we are enjoying the experiences, but we are fooling ourselves. It is that unidentifiable something at the back of our mind that really enjoys the experiences through us.
I would consider it our duty to offer a sample of all possible experiences in this world of ours to 'That' - I use the word 'That' for want of a better word to describe 'it'.
So experience everything with detachment, as if in a sacrificial offer, to 'That'.
Never get addicted to any one experience as that would prevent you from deriving full pleasure from all the other experiences which too must be enjoyed so that 'That' could savor it.
I hope I am being coherent enough for you to understand. This philosophy takes some explaining, yhvhash.

I believe I do understand... and you did a fine job articulating somethin so intangible. It's a reminder of how different our world views are, and how much of a difference that could make in the ideas and attitudes a person has. Thanks for the explanation Suby.

My own experience of addiction personally and through close friends coupled with an entirely different view of spirituality has caused me to view many experiences as being harmful. One Western thinker said "There are things a wise man would choose to be ignorant of"

I am here in the answerbag to share my philosophy of life while getting as much knowledge on the different philosophies in the world as I possibly could.
I think one point we would all agree will be 'moderation' in everything that we indulge ourselves in.
Once that point is agreed upon there will be a basis for consensus and reconciliation of all world views and philosophies.
The first step would be to let go of 'self-consciousness' so that we could search for 'That' 'Universal Consciousness'.
Please comment, yhvhash, after due consideration, taking your time.

I don't actually believe in moderation in all things Suby.
I believe that my life goal is to excel in virtue and overflow in righteousness, while at the same time abhoring the ignoble and wicked. Clearly I fail in both accounts, but I by no means disregard the purpose. Having said that, there are a good many things which I don't want to experience at all.
Moreover, I do not think self-consciousness is the same as selfishness, or a thing that must be extinguished by any means. Nor do I think God is a Universal Consciousness, but rather, a mystery - who, apart from self revelation will be forever separated from his creation. I believe his full revelation has been made by Jesus Christ, whom I call Lord, and the Son of God.
I say these things not to argue, but only to show you the points where our world views contrast.

I am very much familiar with your world view, yhvhash. I would very much agree with your view on God and Jesus Christ.
I would only want to suggest that strong feelings on any topic could be counterproductive. You could think about it.
