Which of these bands is a better representation of Heavy Metal? Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin?

    I like both, but I never thought of either as Metal. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica are metal.
    But for you answer, Led Zeppelin.

    Neither...Led Zeppelin Wasnt Even heavy metal...he was just Rock...and deep purple is just disgraceful of Heavy Metal...Heavy metal is best represented by bands such as Slayer, and Cannibal Corpse, Iron maiden, Anthrax, All these bands really represent metal...No offense but really people...

    Agreed they are not heavy metal. I used to like Deep Purple 35 years ago, but I still like Led Zeppelin! I can still hardly imagine them in a Cadillac commercial, but it works. Rock 'n Roll!
