I like both, but I never thought of either as Metal. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Metallica are metal. But for you answer, Led Zeppelin.

Deep Purple was good, very good in fact, but Zeppelin is hard to compare anyone to. (But, there ARE a few!)

Neither...Led Zeppelin Wasnt Even heavy metal...he was just Rock...and deep purple is just disgraceful of Heavy Metal...Heavy metal is best represented by bands such as Slayer, and Cannibal Corpse, Iron maiden, Anthrax, All these bands really represent metal...No offense but really people...

Agreed they are not heavy metal. I used to like Deep Purple 35 years ago, but I still like Led Zeppelin! I can still hardly imagine them in a Cadillac commercial, but it works. Rock 'n Roll!
