yes -- and better for yours if he comes into the house

Neutering? Yes. Male cats once neutered, often become more affectionate. They wander less and therefore have far less chance of being hit by a car, or getting lost, and they spray less. They also, of course, dont become irresponsible fathers of many little furry mouths!

i was told they live longer!!!!

Our first tomcat was entire: he lasted about 2 years and spent several months away from home, returning to recuperate, and finally catching some grim infection that didn't respond to antibiotics. After that we got two brothers, and we had them 'dressed' as they say here. They both lived into their teens, the longer-lived one dying at the age of 17. I think our first cat had fun, but I was glad that the others lived longer and were less of a worry.

I have had my cats altered, neutered.. whatever you want to call it. One lasted 17 years and the other 19. Many of the nighborhood strays get infections due from fighting and eating garbage so not only is altering your cat a good idea.. but keeping them inside prolongs their life significantly. I will not lie.. all of mine have had access outside. Oscar, my six month old cat goes in and out the doggy door .. but I live in the country and altered cats tend to stick closer to the home.

The last time I nuted a cat I went to jail.

Nuking is not at all good for its health. Neutering does help though, simply because the cat will not get into the fights and subsequent infections that cause unneutered cats to smell and look bad.

I can't really speak for the cat but From this male's view: The thought leaves my knees weak .
