Sometimes, the action you describe occurs so fast, that the wrestler doing "the bouncing" doesn't have enough time to react to it, and can only "go with the flow." I have seen some wrestlers hold onto the top rope, to prevent themselves from being hurled into their opponent(s), and some have done some "reverse moves" (perfected over years of practice), but the majority are sometimes so taken by surprise that they just don't know what to do and "bounce." +5

the "lead" wrestler either tells the other wrestler or the referee, who relays the move before it is executed, so that it goes off without issue. Watch them in a clench, and you can sometimes tell when they call their next move.
