Can flushing condoms down a toilet cause plumbing problems?

yep. my brother in law is a plumber and he talks about condoms causing drainage problems and he has to go in and pull them out....yuck!!

Depends on how many you flush. If you're having orgies at your house and several dozen a night are going down, possibly. And are you on city sewer or do you have a septic system? City sewers probably no problem. A private septic tank, no so much at first but in the long run they may clog your drainfield.

You bet it can. The same is true for flushing tampons down the drain.

Sure anything can. I would suppose it might depend on the quanity for one thing in regard to local problems and total amounts in regard to a sewage treatment plant. Doubt any number or amount would help it. +5

you probably aren't likely to plug your toilet. Use bio-degradable ones if you have a septic system. In a city, it is likely that the condom will come out of the flow onto a screen and end up in the landfill.
