A father 'allegedly' runs over his daughter because she became 'too westernized'. If you move out of your culture, especially to America, shouldn't you expect to eventually become part of the new culture? (Link)

No link at the first time I wrote, but it came up later. But rough guess, the "father' is a Muslim. If Britain is any example, apparently the host country needs to bend itself over backwards accomodating the demands of the emigrant. Got Sharia law? It seems that, "traditional Iraqi values" sounds a lot like what daddy did to his daughter and her friend.

i also think he is a Muslim because I have a neighbor who at times can even seem like a nice cool guy but if someone says anything bad to him .he is ready to him who ever said it to him .so Muslims could be careless at times

Yes! It's called "assimilation", it happens to anyone that moves to a different location for an extended period of time. You don't even have to move out-of-state to be assimilated to a new culture.

Once no one would have disagreed with the premise that immigrants should adopt the new culture. Personally I don't even get excited about immigrants keeping their old culture. For themselves. . Committing automotive Islamism on your own flesh and blood is, apart from being a crime against humanity, family, society and the vehicular code, is a crime against any legitimate idea of God.

Factotum is right on. This so-called honor-killing perpetrated under the guise of a particular faith is despicable and is cold-blooded premeditative murder. It's also become a serious problem in Canada, from murder and dismemberment of a 5 year old girl to 3 young sisters and a mother being drowned in a local canal. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/07/24/f-honour-killings.html#socialcomments My heart goes out to these women/children .... Our governments have to step up to the plate ~ address the Muslim community/clerics/extremists of Sharia Law. Here in Canada, the pendulum of multi-culturalism has swung too far.

Certainly people of all customs are welcomed. However, if they want to kill, do clitorectomies, or otherwise indulge in a culture counter to ours, they should be required to take those acts back to their home countries. Do it here, do time.

That would depend on why you have moved to the new place. Some people leave their homeland seeking a different way of life, and some leave their homeland to colonize and subjugate the new land.

The men, maybe, but the women are to remain saleable commodities who do not bring 'shame' on their father in his society by not being under his total control. In the case of those that go as far as so called 'honor killings', anyway.
