Eagle Plains, Yukon Territories ... mid summer while the sun goes around and around with 24 hours of daylight ... the various Arctic plants grow so fast and for such a short time that every few hours yet another plant gets a half inch taller than the others and a new set of flowers open and bloom, changing the colour of the entire viewable landscape ... another few hours later, and yet another plant grows taller, blooms, and the landscape colour changes again ...
... but the growing season is very short that far north and from Halloween to Easter you can drive on the frozen river ... up there they have a joke expression, the names of the 4 seasons are June, July, August, and winter !!!
