All venomous snakes have substantial resistance to their own venom. This is essential since there is always some venom in their mouths, and their prey will have substantial venom in them.

Depends on how many times it bites itself. I would guess that most snakes are immune to their own venom and therefore dying of poison probably unlikely. The only reason why I reason that viewpoint is because we use virus' to produce vaccines and snake venom is used to produce antidotes. My guess is the snake, as an evolved species, has already adapted to the level of poison it could possibly accidentally inject into itself. But going back to the orginal point, if the snake were to say bite itself several hundred times, there's no reason to believe it wouldn't bleed to death. But then again I have no useful knowledge of snakes.

Not sure that animals ever commit suicide, but I have heard of poisonous snakes accidentally biting themselves during an attack, and yes, they die.

i hope not what if it bites its tongue??

All venomous animals have a certain degree of tolerance for venom, but with enough bites, they will die.

As far as a snake killing itself with it's own venom, a definitive answer has not yet been agreed upon by experts. There is, however, a known example of a cobra which self-envenomated, producing a large abscess which required surgical intervention but showing no other effects that would've proven lethal to itself. http://www.snakegetters.com/demo/haje/index.html I like your question though, it's a funny idea to ponder. I think the snake would definitely be laughed at once it reached snake heaven ;p
