What type of books do you prefer? Action, mystery, true story and vampire; sci-fi, meaningful or meaningless?....

I know I'm gonna get flack for this and you may doubt my word on the matter, but "Moby Dick" was so damn good it blew my mind. For some reason it grabbed me. I was in the story. It took me in. I couldn't believe that i liked it so much. Still can't. Usually Im a "Lord of the Rings" kind of guy. Thats a totally sweet book, too, but for very different reasons.

That's impossible to answer without knowing what books you enjoy, but some I have read recently and enjoyed: Captain Blood - Rafael Sabatini The Death of Grass - John Christopher I Am Legend - Richard Matheson (my favourite book)

Phantom of the Opera. I just couldn't put it down. It was brilliant.

The Dalai Lama's Little Book of Inner Peace. A GREAT read even if your not studying Buddhism. :)

I'll go with some famous ones : "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand and maybe not-so-famous but great for me "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" by John Godey "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon "The Great and Secret Show" by Clive Barker [ the only book I've ever read that I put away for a year because it frightened me so badly. I returned to it and it remains a great book for me ] "The Midwich Cuckoos" by John Wyndham +5
