  • Songs are around 99 cents on i-tunes nowadays and videos are $1.99. I don't think it's worth getting a criminal record just to download a tune. That criminal record will likely follow the "perp" (however small a deed) for the rest of their years.
  • I'd much rather buy the songs/album. Stealing music by downloading it or copying it from someone else's disc effects more than just the musician: it is stealing from every person at every level of the distribution process. From the janitor at the recording studio to the sales clerk at the music store, and every one in between, if they make their living from the sale of music, they are being ripped off by the music and video pirates.
