Yes. To me it tastes like old beef that has been in the freezer for a year. (That is also how I feel about angus beef) Tastes good as sausage.

I often eat and cook venison. It very much depends on the cut of meat and how long it has had to hang, this can very the taste and tenderness. There are a lot of local wild deer that are sold locally, I also find that the meat does not travel that well and I only buy locally shot deer.

I ate it regularly when the mad-cow disease panic was on in Scotland: it could be very good indeed, but the butchers' quality control was not so good, and some of the meat was very poor.

Oh yeah I had a nicely blended sausage before the taste was blended with outher meats. The taste was very nice.
