Well the only time I've ever KNOWN about it is my last flight (Atlanta to Orange County, CA) taken a week ago -- a woman was piloting the plane, which I know from the cockpit announcements she made. I'm 49 and have flown many times, this is the first time I ever heard a woman talking from the cockpit. (Yes, the landing was smooth!)
