OK. Here's the thing about gender roles. A. Whatever the parents believe in as far as morals go, have a HUGE impact(for better or for worse, there are a lot of terrible people out there..) on the children they raise. B. Gender roles define a lot more than tendencies in personality. Without them it is very difficult to ensure the child grows up confident, sexually oriented correctly, and able to relate to the opposite gender in their lives successfully. So, this really is up to the parents. There are too many religious/moral opinions that affect this. In my opinion, I think it should be encouraged that men should protect what they love, work hard, appreciate beauty and respect the opposite gender, and be happy in what they do. Women should be encouraged the same, except they should be told on top of those things to be respectful to the male in their lives, and accept when the male tries to provide for them. Physically speaking, this comes to another moraly issue for some, the male is built to be stronger, faster naturally, and in need of something to protect/care for. Women are naturally softer, more emotionally open, (not by any means saying that is how they are personally,) and more nurturing. Thus, I hope you encourage the best of both genders and not worry so much about petty things like clothes and toy cars ^^D.

Nope. Kids should be allowed to play with what they want to play with, and choose any colors. +5 Anti-troll pts

No no! Please don't mistake me, I mean solely on the weight of the question from a neutral standpoint. I had hoped to clear that possible impression in my last statement, "Thus, I hope you encourage the best of both genders and not worry so much about petty things like clothes and toy cars ^^D." I didn't say you did! I said I hope you don't! And since you don't, cheers. No need to be defensive friend :) +2 for your decisions.
