  • I am English. My favourite American television programme is definitely the Simpsons. I must admit I do not find most American humour (or 'humor') amusing however the Simpsons is a complete exception to this and I think it is brilliantly funny. Ooops I just saw it says Australian. I can honestly say the only Australian TV programme I know is the soap 'Neighbours' and I don't really enjoy soaps in general, so I am not a fan.
  • From America - Monty Python I love Monty Python, Benny Hill etc. I have seen many shows (British, I beleive) on PBS that have caught my attention but dont know the names. I seem to have an affinity for Brit humoUr I also liked DANGER UXB from years ago. (Also saw on PBS)

  • I'm American, and I'm a big Sci-Fi and fantasy fan, so my fave current Brit shows are Dr Who, Torchwood, and Hex. Life on Mars was OK, but was too slow-moving. I don't think I've ever seen an Australian TV show. And BTW- the Empire also includes Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand. :)

  • American and my favorite is Spaced, tho a close 2nd is Black Books.
  • AMERICAN.......First on my list would be "Jewel in the Crown" as this is the very first British show I watched and really got me hooked. Today I like most all the mysteries with number one being "Silent Witness" Number two "Rebus" then "Midsomer Murders" and "Inspector Frost". If you like mysteries I don't think you will be disappointed in any of them just give yourself a little time to get use to the slang and accent.

  • As a Brit you haven't really given me much to work with, as we get very little Australian shows apart from soaps, so I'll have to cheat and pick an American show, The Sopranos.
