  • You can sell it but you will still be responsible for the outstanding balance.
  • No, the lien needs to be satisfied before the closing. No one would want to buy it otherwise. You can't warrant clear title because you don't have it.
  • Sorry new to the site, not sure how I add to my question-- I have a first and second mortgage and the second is settling for what is left. This 3rd lien is for an unsecured loan, and this is on a home I no longer live in (not my primary residence). Could I possible get it moved to my primary residence, as I really want to sell this home. The amount of the 3rd lien is 15K.
  • Somewhere in the middle of your question is the lienholder of your home. They have to be satisfied first, before any thought of a sale can be started by you.
