  • Yes to the first part - I'm not sure about the second; I don't think so. After all, the answerers didn't do anything wrong.
  • No. You do not lose any points. Any points you earned up until the questions are merged are yours. From that point on, any points will be the original questioner's. No answerer will lose points, and, in fact, may GET more, as then the original questioner, if still here, will probably uprate them for answering. Even so, the idea is NOT to duplicate questions. One of AB's ideas is to give people looking for answers to questions only ONE place to find them, not a bunch.
  • No, they don't remove those points from your total but you won't get anymore either so it's best not to write duplicates. The points just disappear on the question. They don't go to the original question, either. All the points on the answers stay the same unless someone comes around and gives them points.
