  • In the long run it will be, yes certainly. As climate change and the relationship of man’s activities become better understood, it will be well worth the investment. Remember, carbon emissions are getting all of the attention now, but there are a number of other pollutants that a dangerous to that are being greatly reduce through the use of “green energy”.
  • Absolutely. It will cause hell though when it first steps on the scene and challenges the geopolitical climate of today, but our children's children will curse us if we do not succeed. +5
  • Anything that helps out nature is worth it!!
  • Worth it?! Foreal
  • We have got to start some where and then it will eventually become profitable.
  • Yep. At this time we are spending our capital (all the stored polycarbons that nature has stored up through millions of years). There is a limit to how long you can do that. If we continue 2 things will happen: 1) we run out of oil, coal, peat, etc. 2) Our atmosphere revert to the composition it had 3.5 billion years ago before the first plants started fixing CO2 and releasing the oxygen. Today our air contain some 20% Oxygen. Back then it contained practically no free oxygen (It was all tied to carbon).
  • I don't care what color it is, as long as it's eco-friendly! +5
  • no, its overpriced, inefficiant, and basically a huge scam. just like the swine flu vaccine.
  • It will be in the long run as Perryman said, but in the here and now no it's not worth the cost to change completely over to it. I think green energy needs to be phased in over several decades for us to get the most benefits from it.
  • Maybe you should be asking "Is this planet worth it?" Because the answer is the same. Absolutely.
  • Depending what energy and the circumstances, but generally yes. There are not going to be that many great advances in current green energy products, past what we already have. There may be some international green energy production on a large scale which would make it even cheaper. But demand for it will increase, which may mean prices don't reduce that much with mass production. When at the moment a lot of it is subsidised, there will only be more taxing on polluting and less effective processes in the future. A lot of green technology outperforms conventional technology for price, over the life of the product.
  • Yes indeed!
  • When it comes down to the $Green$ of Solar Energy I have found out it is worth it. Our solar panels were phased in on the electric grid September 14,2009 and we are now saving between $250 to $350 a month. Since we are operating on a solar meter the smart meter does not apply, we are not over charged and we can now afford to throw away the credit cards that we sometimes had to use just to survive month to month. Yeah...going Green is worth it.
