my "fardel" or burden is physical pain... currently.
However through my life my fardels (plural) have been many different things.
I have concluded that once we learn how to deal with one burden we leave space open to take on more burdens. Thus the reason for life is to learn how to 'deal with'
"stuff".
I suspect the Bard was attempting to express this.
