Should there be a national healthcare plan with national government as an optional provider to compete with private insurance companies?

It will start out that way,though now with real choices,between coverage without preconditions ,rates that are one fifths or more less that private insurances offer,they would be phased out quickly.How could they compete with a fair health care plan.That is why they are fighting tooth and nail and trying to lie and mislead the country about public health care. In other countries the money from monthly health plans is put into a pool,and with the funds they pay doctors,for hospitals,and equipments.Now the system is not run on pure profit,and medicare is much more affordable for all concerned.Also these countries use lotteries,and higher taxes of cigarettes and alcohol(both that contribute to ill health)
