  • Nothing anymore! Let's put it this way, many young females and males, dress in black to goto disco's, their not in mourning, they are going out to get plasted and have a good time. The old Greek women wore black for several years after their husbands died. I suppose it was to say to others, that they weren't ready to re-marry again, or perhaps to tell the world, that they were victims after their husbands died. How dare the husband died before them? I suppose all that pasta and all the hard work he did, was mumma's way to get rid of him, hahaha
  • It simbolizes the grief of the people who are attending the funeral and to mark the occsion as being somber. The only cultures that don't use black are Asian and Voodoo, they use white to show the purity of the passing over.
