  • there are some fancy gourmet dishes that use gold leaf over the desserts for visual appeal but I don't think it affects the flavor. still good question that many people will never find out for themselves. I guess you could taste a piece of gold jewelry without actually EATING it. Ok, my wedding ring did leave a metallic taste and I would say the PH in my mouth dropped a little as if it were slightly acidic. That could have been some sort of galvanic reaction between my fillings and the ring.
  • It has no taste. Gold is very non-reactive, so it doesn't dissolve or form salts or anything.
  • None at all. It's not chemically reactive, and taste is a chemical reaction. No reaction, no taste.
