Animals will run away in safe places before the earthquakes place.

I beleive so, most animals tend to sense all sorts of things that humans can't. Like dogs that sense when their owner is about to have an epileptic seizure!! And I have also seen a program that cats can sense when someone close is about to die! Dogs have enhanced senses like smell and hearing. Birds can sense a storm coming and fly in large flocks in big circles, over and over again. So I guess dogs (and other animals) would sense an earthquake, hense why they all go to higher ground. But there are some who don't, but hey, like humans there would also be dogs that aren't real smart. lol. Hope this helps.

They don't predict them, but they may feel the smallest precursors to a bigger quake. We had two dogs that would start barking oddly at night about two weeks before a major quake, back in California. And these were dogs that just never barked at other times. Our horses used to be really nervous and skittish for those same two weeks. We started paying close attention to when they would do that.

Why not? There are dogs that can predict death!
