  • I really like Obama, but I think it is rediculous! Mind you, he is a much more worthy winner than some of the past ones - Shimon Peres and Kissinger, two war criminals in all but convictions, that's just wrong!
  • A bit premature...and purely BS. The "Peace Prize" has always been the least believable of all the Nobel Prizes. The prize for Literature and Humanities have also always been highly dubious. I think the Nobel Prize should remain for Science only. That is what it was originally. They should have left it alone.
  • i dont understand what he did to deserve it.
  • The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. Very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future, the committee said in a citation.
  • The same way I felt when Al Gore won it... I was absolutely sickened, and realized how stupid the whole concept and those in charge of it actually are.
  • What a joke. The man has done nothing for his own country, let alone the world! The Peace Prize? While he talks about sending more troops to Afghanistan? Just what we need,3 more years of this clown walking around saying,"I won the Nobel Prize".
  • Mixed. Someone was just a little too eager to hand it to him.
  • I am happy for him and the US. It is certainly an encouragement of his foreign policy.
  • if you read newspapers from outside the us, where 95% of the world's population live, you'll see that he has already brought the hope, real efforts at diplomacy ... i see he was nominated just 2 weeks after he became president. i doubt that the award, in this case, was so much for the nobel committee's awe of his accomplishments as it is an acknowledgment that he will be expected to accomplish yet greater things!
  • I'm so thrilled. He's done so much for world peace! Let's see....he's, uh, well...oh, I've got it! He was a great community leader. Man, that must have all the community leaders inspired. Just think; they're only on step away from being president AND winning the Nobel Peace Prize. What a farce!
