  • If we're talking about fictional vampires, then it depends on the cannon of the universe in question. From original tradition going back to Bram Stoker, vampires fed on human blood. But because the idea of being a vampire is such the awesomeness, writers like to come up with friendly vampires (Twilight, for example), where they keep the creepy mystique of blood drinking, but let them eat on animals so they can be the good guys. (Which might not work for you if you're vegan.) If you're talking about real life vampire subculture, then I'm sure anything goes. Typically they'll lick each others blood, but there's no reason they couldn't drink animal blood if they want... just hope they pasteurize it or something first... :)
  • Vampires are fictional creatures. They don't exist. So their biology depends entirely on who is writing the story.
  • As far as classical vampires go, the blood is the life, and the consumption of blood is a lot more symbolism for the taking of life rather than anything biologically oriented. But I guess that depends what you're reading or watching, in the end.
  • Well, let's see... since there is no such thing....
  • Vampires like all mammals blood.
  • no.. its... i mean of course vampires dont exist.. but... they feed off blood.. no matter whos blood.. just i heard human blood is addictive.. and mabye thw writers thought that would be more...tasty for some reason than animal blood..
