Yes. In most states being an appraiser actually gives you the authority of a realtor.

Yes - The appraiser licensing and real estate agent licensing are seperate The appraiser licensing is different in every state but is federally mandated for minimum standards.The required course work to become an appraiser or agent is completely different in every state. I am both.

In most states you can only be licensed to do one or the other and not both. In most states (if not all) being a real estate appraiser doesn't allow you to practice as a Realtor. http://www.portlandareahomeinfo.com
