Become a citizen of the EU and get free university.

pork pie's right. higher education is free just about everywhere else but in the usa. however, the usa is seen as having the premier universities. there are a thousand a one ways to get scholarship or loan money. i don't know the specifics of your situation - cost of each course, degree program, work study opportunities, graduate assistantships, student loans are almost forever - you've reached the lifetime max or just the max for this year? private loans are nearly impossible in this economy. if studying something like nursing, you can get health care credits right away. see your school's financial aid counselor. if s/he isn't helpful, i remembere tht the pennsylvania higher education authority used to provide lots of helpful brochures and advice to folks nationally.

Rob a bank. . There are 2 things you need to keep cognizant of while trying to go to college. 1) Seriously consider your major. I thought I did but then learned so much more out of school than I ever did in school. I got my degree in Accounting and now think it's a wasteful occupation not worthy of my time. . 2) Loans are dangerous things. You ALWAYS want to be on the good side of interest if you can. (Meaning receiving more interest than paying out, which will never happen if you take out loans) Any loan is essentially a contract to volunteer yourself into indentured servitude. How else are you going to pay the loan back unless you slave away at some occupation where your slavemaster is your boss? . Just my perspective.

Maybe work part time or get work study at school? There's still the Pell grant I assume.

Your loans are maxed and you have no financial aid left? How much more do you have to pay? What about merit based scholarships or.. a job?

Scholarships are an option. They are, after all, free money. You don't have to pay them back. A lot of people think you need to have a stellar GPA in order to apply for scholarships. That's actually not true. There are some that do require a minimum GPA (each scholarship will specify what the min is in the requirements), but many do not even take your GPA into consideration. To find out what scholarships you can apply for, try either www.fastweb.com or www.scholarshipexperts.com. Start an account with either of them (it's free). You'll input a lot of information about yourself, and then the site does a search on millions of scholarships. You'll get a list back of the ones that you probably quality for based on the info you gave the site. You will want to apply to as many scholarships as possible to increase your chances of getting something. It may not be able to cover all the rest of your tuition, but something is better than nothing, and you may get enough to hold you out until something else comes along.
