  • It is not hygeine that is the problem, but the "humidity". sweating can cause fungal infections...it is good sometimes to go without.
  • It may be true or not. All I know is, my wife doesn't wear panties to bed and it makes me a healthy person.
  • I thought panties were ment to be worn on your head.
  • I have never heard that. Maybe if someone constantly wears synthetic fibers that don't let "it" breathe, there could be some sort of bacterial development, but otherwise no. I personally prefer to wear my underwear at night, but that's just a comfort thing.
  • Cotton panties are always best to wear. As long as you change your panties at least daily (I would not sleep in panties I had wore since the morning to bed!) there should be no problems.....to be honest if you have a nightie or PJ's on there is no need for panties too. Alternatively you can just wear nothing all round let all of your skin get some air!
  • I think it's only a problem if you stop wearing your panties and your panties start wearing YOU.
  • Yes, I've heard that. If you don't want to go without panties at night, make sure that you wear cotton ones (actually, it's best to wear cotton ones all the time). The reason is so that, as another person mentioned, the your crotch can "breathe" and maintain the correct pH (very important in preventing yeast infections).
  • You can if you want....people wear pyjamas to bed thought they are generally not as tight as knickers are. It is a matter of letting yourself air out for a healthier you. And you can do this by not wearing knickers perhaps when you are just around yur own home, sometimes. If you feel that you have to wear panties to bed then invest in cotton boxers because cotton breaths well and by preference boxers are generally loose...
  • If you feel that you must where them to bed....get cotton panties...yes there is some concern about yeast infections as the cells can't breathe... particularly if you where man-made fibres
  • You're better off if you wear cotton undies to bed............ more breathin room =]]
  • Don't even own any!
  • I've heard that silky panties are not good for you but not that you shouldn't wear them to bed. I wear underwear to bed.
  • now that it is hot outside, I sometimes will like to remove my panties for the second half of the day just to enjoy being aired out down there. this will only happen if I am wearing a long dress. i don't know how hygienic or unhygienic not wearing undies is but when it's warm outside, a cool breeze is welcome
  • I actually do wear them to bed. However, there was a discussion on a morning radio show that I listen to, and they were discussing whether or not you even need to wear panties ever. Of course everyone thought you should. However, more than one OB/GYN called in and said in all reality, it is healthier not to wear them. A couple of them also said that cotton is NOT good, because when cotton does get wet, it doesn't dry quickly. Some of the new synthetic fibers that have wicking action and dry quickly (used for sports clothing) are the best if you are going to wear them.
  • i only wear a thong and nothing else to bed
  • I wear nylon briefs to bed. My dreams are sweeter when I do. Also, during my period, briefs hold my pad in place better than panties.
  • uhh i do .. and when its hot like nothing else is that bad ?
  • No i had'nt heard that does that apply to guys to?
  • I haven't heard that but I don't wear anything to bed just because clothes get all twisted up and uncomfy :)
  • I am prone to frequent yeast infections and I was told to let the area air out as much as possible. Yeast grows in wet moist areas and at night i sweat horribly and wearing panties just gets that area wetter and causes the yeast to grow and grow so I air it. It's helping a lot
  • no i dont wear anything for bed.:)
  • I always wear them to bed, i always wear clothes to bed :]
  • Wearing panties to bed is only non-hygienic if you sweat and trap bacteria against your skin with the moist fabric. If you want to wear panties, crotchless or cotton crotched ones solve the problem nicely. Yes, I frequently wear them to bed.
  • No. Except during my period.
  • I usually wear pj bottoms or panties to bed as I find it a lot more comfortable.
  • i never wear my knickers in bed cos my husband loves it but it is supposed to be good for hygiene stops you smelling
  • My doctor told me at least once a week for hygiene. Except during the obvious week.
  • I think someone is yanking your chain...
  • i went on embarrassing illnesses and the video "am i normal ; Vagina" states you should go knickerfree at night as this stops yeast building up and infections being caused as a result so my advice is sleep with no knickers at night and if you need the toilet yourll probably wake up anyway ...
  • I never wear panties at all. Does that mean I have good hygiene?
  • i wish my wife sleep nude, she wears pannties, sweat pants, shirts as much as she can cause she portugeas and is naturally cold all the time

  • no idont
  • Just wear satin bikini panties and you'll be fine.
  • I always wear white cotton panties to bed. If I don't, my bottom is cold all night.
  • straight guy here, yes i wear panties to bed but then again i wear them 24/7 just make sure they are changed very regularly, even when it is cold and i wear pyjamas i still prefer panties underneath just because i change panties daily but who puts on clean pjs everyday?
  • i sleeep in them...like actually sleep in them
  • My wife goes in the nude almost as much as me but the thing with the panties has to do with allowing yourself to breath. If you have cotton panties it is almost not a concern but if you wear synthetic materials you parts suffocate and bread bacteria causing odor and infection. Even with cotton there is still a little trapping of bacteria and smell, it's really best to go with out if possible, at all times.
  • I never wear panties to bed just a gown..I hear its better to let it air out..
  • I'm now convinced. After trying the No-Panties-At-Night thingy for the past two months it's just a matter of breaking the habit and it feels great. - http://www.qa-health.com/f10/true-sleeping-without-panties-better-you-76405/ - http://www.clubvibes.com/forum/topic.aspx?id=433709 - A recent poll shows that only about 25% of females continue to wear panties at night and about 20% don't wear them at any time.
  • Pfft. Of course I wear them to bed. Especially during that time of the month. I don't care if someone says it's bad to wear them to bed. There are times I don't, though. I'll wear them when I feel like it and I'll take them off when I feel like it. That's that. I care more about my comfort than worrying about every little thing.
  • I have to wear cotton panties to bed otherwise I don't feel comfortable. I agree with another poster that I sleep more comfortably. They fit snug but not tight. I also wear bras to bed from time to time. They hold my breasts in place when I sleep. When I have my period I tend to wear 2 panties to bed as it holds the pantiliner and prevents leaking.
  • LeftBank from Correa I love your period. Which I love of your period, is that when you spread your legs wearing shorts, I love seeing your panties, and when I spread my legs, you'll see my briefs.
  • Leftbank from Correa It's also lovable to want to cry that you wear panties during your periods. Which I also love of your periods, is welcome to my underwear party, which you periods, I'll love seeing you in your panties, and you'll see me in my briefs.
  • cynthia208 from Correa I always wear 2 pairs of briefs, one a brief inside, and another a boxer brief outside.
  • For optimal health it needs to breathe. Clothes are relatively new in the evolutionary way of things. Let it breathe.
  • If you should not wear panties to bed how are you supposed to use a night time sanitry towel?
  • I've always understood that every part of your body requires "airing out" from time to time, and I've worn a nightie to bed with no panties since I was very young. The only minor exception to that is once in a while, I will wear a lacy babydoll nightie with matching panties. Even then I'll take off my panties if I wake up during the night and think of it.
  • I was told this when I was young and was never allowed to wear panties to bed. So I dont and I generally sleep nude.
  • It is best to let the genitals air during your sleep. I never wear my trunks to bed.
  • I prefer to wear silk jammies with no undies. Oh wait I don't own any undies. LOL
  • It has long been known/proven sleeping naked is the most healthy way to sleep this includes no panties.
