Can you imagine being a fighter pilot scrambled and ordered to shoot down an airliner that has been hijacked and determined to be headed to a high rise building or heavily populated area? A must "duty" but can you imagine how difficult that would be?

I could never imagine what would go through the minds of that pilot...I imagine that the guilt would be with him/her for the rest of their life.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. If you stop to think about what you are doing you could, instead of killing hundreds, kill thousands by letting said plane reach it's target. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
