  • Yes. For the first week or so, it all depaends on how much you drive. It is just burning the oils of the parts of the engine and exhaust that gets hot. No worries.
  • It could be your catalytic converter. # http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalytic_converter The smell should go in about a week or two.
  • Nevets probably didn't read the question properly. (I won't fault him - I do it too) Or he has different information. However, having owned 3 new vehicles in my life I know that this is normal. When the engine is assembled at the factory, different chemicals such as lubricants, etc. are sprayed on different components to aid assembly. When an engine is fired up and gets up to operating temperature, it burns off these chemicals. For me it normally lasts a week or two depending on how much you drive it. Just remember to let the engine get up to operating temperature before shutting it off. This will help 1) burn off the chemicals faster and stop that stench 2) extend the life of your engine. Hope this helps, Good luck and enjoy your new car!
