Conkering is serious business. Remember all is fair in love and war. Conkers is a war game. I like create the hole then let it soak mine 24 hrs in a matte urethane. Let it dry for weeks. Mines as hard as a diamond and has won several competitions. Another good technique is to rub the oil from the side of your nose onto the concker. It makes it less brittle.
