Question

Help answer this question below.

I have an 02 tahoe. What would cause my 4 wheel drive front axles not to engage? You can hear the front transfer case engage and front drive shaft does turn. And when in 4 wheel drive you can feel the rear tires spin just not the front especially in 4 lo.

have you checked the fluid level? is there any noise from the front axle? when you check the fluid see if it looks silvery or has shavings in it. if so you may have a problem with the gears or chain.

You may have to replace your 4wd actuator, if it is electronic.
